DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Why Deep Tissue?

With so many Massage treatments being offered how do you select the one for you? You may have felt uncomfortable having what seemed like heavy pressure for a relaxing Massage you thought was booked for relaxation. An Aromatherapy may be selected one day but a few weeks later another such as Swedish Massage or Holistic Massage, even a Hydrotherm Massage. I would always advise looking at various sources of information on types of massage before deciding which might be suitable. It may also be worth a quick telephone call to chat with therapist about treatments on offer. We don’t bite and are only too pleased to explain the modalities offered. We can always refer you to someone who can explain about therapies not offered. (See other Massage offered under their headings on web site.)

This is a good massage for those who like a firm treatment.

But, what is Deep Tissue Massage?

Deep Tissue Massage is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the muscle fibres, tendons and fascia. Deep tissue massage helps to break up and eliminate scar tissue. Deep tissue massages may focuses on more specific areas and possibly cause some soreness during or right after the massage. However, if the massage is done correctly you should feel better than ever within a day or two. Deep tissue massage is used to release chronic muscle tension through slower strokes and more direct deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles not with the grain.

Why Choose, A Deep Tissue Massage?

It feels good and it is beneficial to your health. When muscles are stressed, they block oxygen and nutrients, leading to inflammation that builds up toxins in the muscle tissue. A deep-tissue massage helps loosen muscle tissues, release toxins from muscles and get blood and oxygen circulating properly. Because many toxins are released, it's important to drink plenty of water after a deep-tissue session to help eliminate these toxins from the body.

And, what is the purpose of Deep Tissue Massage?

The purpose is to "un-stick" the fibres of a muscle while releasing deeply-held patterns of tension, helps eliminate toxins and at the same time relaxes and soothes the muscle. It is both corrective and therapeutic.
