This intensive comprehensive course has been designed for qualified beauty therapist’s level 2 or above considering a career in the make up artistry and wishing to expand on there existing knowledge and learn the correct principles of make up application to commercially acceptable time in the context of media make-up for fashion, photographic and film. Models are provided for you to work on and all work is photographed using Nikon Photographic equipment and hard copies are provided for the basis of your professional portfolio.
Many beauty therapists’ find that they wish to add makeup artistry to there existing service. However, they have only had a limited amount of makeup application of 1-2 days throughout there beauty therapy training courses and have limited portfolio evidence of this.
This course will unlock your potential as a makeup artist and allow you to offer professional makeup artistry standards for your clients. As a level 2 beauty therapist on production of your certificates we will accredit your prior learning and exempt you from week one of the Foundation Certificate in Makeup Artistry saving you time and money. You will create 14 different looks resulting in 98 professional images for your portfolio.
All our courses are accredited, approved and recognised by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists for insurance purposes and students successfully completing our courses can apply for membership of the Guild and use the initials M.P.G.B.T. Every course carries CPD points (Continuous professional development points) shown in the course booking form so that you know your training counts towards your on-going professional development if you’re an existing practitioner or a new entrant to the industry.

All courses are run in our media make-up training studio. You will develop the basis of a professional portfolio as all work is photographed using Nikon photographic equipment, necessary to work in the media industry.

On this day you will be taught skin analysis and the correct procedure for conducting a facial and understanding of skincare products and there appropriate use.

Week Two – QUALIFIED THERAPISTS ONLY ROUTE

Special Occasion Make-up
This day is aimed at creating looks for family portrait and glamour make-up for photography.
Day 9 - 09:30 —17:30
Bridal Make-up
Bridal make-up is a specialisation and this day will teach you the essential techniques to produce stunning bridal looks. From planning the bridal make-up to creating three different bridal looks.
Day 10 - 09:30 —17:30
Portfolio Day
Students to produce four different looks using models for their portfolios.
All candidates must
• Complete daily learning log
• Complete a Make-up Record Card for each procedure
• Complete a Make-up Face Chart for each procedure
• Create Photographic evidence of all work undertaken
• Undertake all assessments to satisfactory competency standard
• Complete Knowledge Reviews to demonstrate underpinning knowledge
• Case Studies to be produced further to the course and submitted to ensure full range covered minimum 2 Day make-up, 2 Evening make-up, 2 Fashion make-up, 2 Other skin tones, 2 Special Occasion, 2 Bridal, you must incorporate the use of tinting, false eyelash application, use of liquid or block eyeliner into 2 of the above case studies.
Produce a Project which includes producing a leaflet describing your services, developing a mood board, creating a CV, research and produce a Make-up Artist Directory, Complete the self study pack.
