Our client requires a good team member with excellent communication and organisation skills to be a Design Engineer of Hardware and Systems in their Research and Development team.
The role includes;
- System level design in analogue and digital low-power electronics hardware
- Detailed design of electronics hardware from initial concept schematic diagram through to manufacture
- Production of hardware specification documentation
- Controlled release of designs and manufacturing information to BS EN ISO 9000: 2008 standard
- System to component level test and debugging
- Liaison with other members of the Research and Development Team
- Project management
- Support of and enhancements to existing electronics hardware
- Customer and sales support
Experience / Skills required;
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in electronics engineering or similar,
- Able to provide at least 3 examples of instances where innovative ideas have been put forward to products or designs,
- Able to provide examples of the use of simulation tools to prove designs,
- Experience of design in electronics design for embedded systems,
- Circuit design to single transistor level for analogue and digital signal processing,
- Understanding of mechanical design principles and electronics packaging,
- EMC and Environmental testing,
- Competent use of Oscilloscopes, DVMs, signal generators and other lab equipment,
- Proficiency in PADs or other ECAD software.
- An advantage would be experience in sensors and sensing technology, communication standards (CAN, RS485, RS232, USB, etc.) and Control Theory and DSP techniques.

Based in Lymington with a salary between £38k and £45k this permanent position includes many extra benefits.
