Whether you’re looking for a peaceful week away from it all, to relax and recharge your batteries or something more active such as walking, sight-seeing, fishing or touring, then the Highland Glen Lodges are for you!

The Area
Set on a wooded hillside in the magnificent Sutherland countryside each of the five Lodges has a panoramic view of the glen below and the mountains beyond. The hills behind the lodges offer many walks where you can stroll by Loch Airgh Mhor and watch the birds of prey that hunt there. Golden Eagles nest in the trees on the other side of the glen and Ospreys inhabit Loch Fleet Nature Reserve - only eight miles from Highland Glen.

The Lodges themselves are built on ex-crofting land and are surrounded by fields mainly inhabited by sheep! Each Lodge is separated from its neighbour by trees and you will feel uncrowded on the well-kept grounds. There is very little traffic on the road nearby and you can safely walk there and chat to the locals who will make you feel very welcome.

We are around 14 miles from the beautiful coastal town of Dornoch (www.visitdornoch.com ). Within two miles of the Lodges is the village of Rogart where the pub serves good food and the shop has all basic essentials.

The Lodges
Each fully furnished timber A-frame Lodge has spectacular views of the stunning Scottish countryside from your private balcony and sitting room. They also have all your home comforts – including a well-equipped kitchen (hob, oven, microwave and dishwasher), a TV and DVD player (and access to a DVD library). Each Lodge has two bedrooms (one twin, one double), and we can provide a cot if required.

There are also laundry facilities, a fenced dog exercise area, and on-site car parking.

Getting here
We are around a one hour drive from Inverness, close to the picturesque town of Dornoch. We are situated on the A839 road - a few miles off the A9 which is a major route through Central and the North of Scotland, making us accessible from throughout the country.

We are close to the main Inverness to Wick railway line. The nearest train station is Rogart (request stop), which is less than two miles from our door. Rogart is also served by a small rural bus network (see www.macleodscoaches.co.uk ). Visit www.travelinescotland.com for public transport journey planning and route details.

If you’re travelling from further afield you can fly to Inverness Airport (http://www.hial.co.uk/inverness-airport.html ), which is well served by many budget airlines. There are competitively priced scheduled flights (some of which are seasonal) from Belfast City, Birmingham, Bristol, Dublin, Düsseldorf, Edinburgh, Jersey, Kirkwall, London Gatwick, London Luton, Manchester, Nottingham East Midlands, Southampton, Stornoway & Benbecula, and Sumburgh.

Prices (per lodge, per week) start from £349 and include bed linen, towels and utilities. Each Lodge sleeps 4 + baby. Dogs welcome. We currently have availability throughout Spring, Summer and Autumn 2009.
